Do our lifetimes end before they begin? Charlie Wright leaned against the wall right outside of the Regal Cinemas, his hands where in his pockets and a cigarette sticking out of his mouth, He hated smoking, But he couldn’t help it. His brown eyes followed the people going in and out of the Theater. He sighed a deep smokey breath as he took the cigarette out of his mouth and held it at his side, flicking the burnt end off on to the cracked pavement. He stared down at the cigarette, he had been keeping so many secrets lately... Even from his closest friends but he couldn't let them see him like this, They probably wouldn't want to talk to him again. He brushed his brown hair away from his eyes and bit his lip before putting the cigarette back into his mouth. He pushed himself of the wall and scanned down the sidewalk for anyone he knew. Everyone walking in or out of the 'Regal' where either deep in some conversation about some kid from school or the movie they had just seen, or they where glued at the hips. He leaned back on the building silently, Not a day went by he didn’t regret going to that party years ago. He dropped the cigarette on the ground and smashed it with the bottom of his black and white converse. He was wearing jeans that touched the cement behind him and a black zip up hoodie over a navy blue t-shirt. And of corse his heroin stayed safely hidden in his back pocket. He was happy that no one he knew had seen him yet.

Megan had nothing to do today. She had finished her homework earlier than usual, and Kyden was at some water sport practice. It seemed her best friend was always at crew or swimming. It was almost incentive enough to make Megan join one of those sports. Well, not really. She wasn't built for swimming, and she was too small for crew. But Megan knew she was lucky to get the time she did with Ky, and she was glad for that. As much as she loved her best friend, she wasn't one of those people who needed another to complete her. She didn't need to be constantly joined at the hip with Ky. She could respect that each of them had their own things to do. Today, Meg's own thing was wandering around town. She had seen the pretty day, gone running, and still hadn't had enough of the outdoors. First, she had struggled over what to wear. Finally, she decided on a pair of blue jeans, a fitted, black, short-sleeve shirt, and a light blue cardigan over the shirt. It looked nice enough without being too fancy in which to go for a walk. She brushed out her long, light brown curls and had put a tad bit of makeup on her large, brown eyes. Then, she had stepped out into the bright daylight. Somehow, she had found herself at the Regal Cinemas. She never really like seeing a movie by herself. It got pretty lonely in the big theater. Plus, why be inside on a day like this? She looked at the big theater, wondering what movies were playing. Not that she wanted to see one. She wasn't a big movie person. She rathered be outside. But sometimes, when she was in the mood, movies sounded like a good idea. She thought she should probably see what was playing just in case. Plus, it never hurt to know what was going on in the movie world. She didn't see any list of movies when she looked around. She did, however, see a boy she vaguely recognized leaning against the wall of the theaters.
She couldn't even see his face. Still, her heart did a little dance in her chest. This boy -- Charlie, she believed his name was -- made her heart jump and dance whenever she saw him. She bit her lip. It was just a crush. A really big crush, yes, but still just a crush. If she ignored it, it would go away, right? But she didn't want to ignore it today. He looked lonely, just standing there with no one to talk to and nothing to do. She wanted to make her presence known. She wanted to let him know that she existed. For a second, she hesitated. Was he waiting for someone? A girl, perhaps? Maybe he was waiting for his girlfriend so they could go see a movie. But she chided herself for this hesitation. If he was waiting for his girlfriend, so what? Going up to him and saying hi meant nothing. If anything, hopefully, it meant the beginning of a friendship. But there was nothing romantic in a greeting. It couldn't hurt to just say hi. Also, what if he wasn't waiting for a girl? What if he was just all alone? Then maybe she could make him feel better by introducing herself. Not only might it make him feel better, but she knew it would make her feel good. She wasn't feeling bad right now, but she knew that just talking to him would make her feel like she was flying for a little while.
Slowly, as if she was running into him on pure coincedence, she strolled towards him. Her hands were in her pockets, her eyes roamed around. She was the epitome of a girl trying to act normal, and probably failing, at that. She found her way towards him. Finally, when she was standing next to him, she said, "Hey." Then, because that seemed to be lacking something, she continued. "I'm Megan. I think I've seen you around at school, but I don't think I ever introduced myself before." She smiled encouragingly at him. It wasn't hard. When she was this close to him, even just talking to him, smiles came easily. She hated how far she could fall for a guy. She considered herself a hopeless romantic. People might see her as a down to earth type of girl. And she was, about most things. But when it came to boys and romance, she couldn't keep her tether to the ground. She found herself floating off in dreams and racing hearts. But she did her best not to let the boy know. Instead, she just smiled and waited for him to introduce himself.

time doesn't heal Charlie noticed a girl who looked slightly familiar, She seemed to be walking his direction. 'Hey' He was sort of surprised to hear her voice, He glanced up as if to see if she was really talking to him. There was no one else standing there. "Hi, Megan... I'm Charlie" She replied scanning the girl in front of him as he tried to remember if he had any classes with her. "Lemme guess. You have nothing to do today either?" He said putting his hands into his pocket and lightly flipping his brown hair away from his face. It seemed like if he wasn't in school he just wandered around aimlessly. He watched her through the bits of stray hair that still hung in his face, She seemed nice enough..

When Charlie's chocolate eyes glanced up to meet hers, her own, dark brown eyes widened. They were so deep that she felt like she could fall into them. But there was something he was guarding. She didn't want to probe. She had only just met him. But it only heightened the mystery that seemed to surround him. She wanted to know what was going on inside his head. She was very, very good at reading expressions, especially eyes. While Charlie's face remained calm and emotionless, his eyes gave her a clouded window into his head. There was something troubling him. She wanted to help him. She wanted him to feel better. But she had no idea what was wrong, and she barely knew him. She sighed. She'd have to ignore it for now. If she was lucky enough to hang out with him more, maybe she could talk to him about it. But it was probably something he didn't want to share, and she didn't want to be nosy.
"Hi, Charlie," Megan said, her smile widening. Even his voice made her smile more. "It's nice to meet you," she said. It was very nice to finally meet him. She had done enough of looking at him from far away. It wasn't that she was a stalker or anything. That sort of behavior scared her. No, she just found him very attractive, and there was something there that she didn't understand. That always made her want to talk to a person. She liked trying to figure things out. She like people in general. But people that had depth to them were even more interesting to her. He looked like a nice kid to get to know. She was prepared to do her very best to get to know him. Maybe she would even be able to help him with whatever was clouding those deep eyes of his.
Meg laughed. "Yeah, pretty much. It's a nice day, today." She looked up. The sky was nearly completely clear and blue, save a few cotton ball clouds. Then she looked back at him. She wanted to say something else, but she didn't know how much she trusted herself. Her heart was still pounding so loudly that she almost thought he could hear it. Not only was it beating noisily, but it was also beating fast. Really fast. She was filled with a feeling of adrenaline. She bit her lip, wishing she wasn't such a hopeless romantic. "What are you doing here?" she asked. It was an accusation, more of just a friendly, conversational question. She prayed the answer wasn't, "I'm waiting for my girlfriend. We're going to see a movie together." That would pretty much suck. But if he had said, 'You have nothing to do today, either,' then that probably meant he was here for lack of anywhere else to go.

Truth or lie, to live or die "Yeah..." He agreed, It was a nice day, To bad he didn't have anything to do... It seemed like a waist to spend it just standing around. 'what are you doing here' She asked. "Nothing really... Just bored" He shrugged glancing at the toward the doors to the theater, "I actually hate movies, I can't sit still long enough to watch one" He added as his gaze moved now fixed on the pavement, It made him slightly nervous for her to be staring into his eyes like that. Some people said 'your eyes are the windows to your mind'... And he didn't really want her to start figuring anything out, like the other girl, Kyden had. [I'm so sorry it's so short... but I gotta' go...]

Megan shifted her weight from one foot to the other. He wasn't a very talkative boy. It was great just to stand here next to him, to be with him. But she kind of wished he would talk a little more. Oh well, she told herself. That will come with time. She reminded herself that not everyone was like her. Not everyone could be wild and crazy with someone they had just met. Megan wasn't being wild with Charlie, though. She wanted to make the right impression on him. She wanted an opportunity to get closer to him. She didn't want him to think she was some weird, crazy girl. That was never fun. She didn't know how well she'd feel if Charlie started to see her as an insane, never-there girl. She wanted him to see her as... well, she wasn't really sure. More than anything, she wanted him to see her as herself, and like her that way. But they had only spoken a few words to each other. She may have found him incredibly good-looking and, so far, nice, but that didn't mean anything yet.
She nodded at his words. "Just bored," she repeated. That sounded very familiar. Luckily, she wasn't bored too often. She had plenty to keep her busy. When she wasn't at school or doing homework, she had a lot of things she could be doing. She could be sportsy and play soccer, softball, or field hockey. Or she could be girly, and she could hang out with her friends, paint nails, go to the mall, or just talk. Then, if she was feeling like she wanted to be alone for a bit, the keyboard in her room was always inviting. She loved having such a broad personality. She had used to think she should narrow down her personality. She used to think that she should focus on one things. That she should be sportsy, like some girls, or girly, like some girls, or lonely, like other girls. Then she realized how great it was to enjoy all of these things. It made it so that she almost always had something to do. Almost always. There were times like these when even her broad enjoyments didn't keep her occupied.
"Yeah," she said. "Same here. Well, I can sit through them, but usually only if it's raining outside!" She laughed quietly. Then, in an effort to keep up conversation, she said, "So... what grade are you in?" She hoped this conversation could lead to a friendship. She loved being in the Dolces. It meant she could be friends with just about anyone and everyone that she wanted to be friends with. It meant that, even though Charlie was a Scenester, she was still allowed to be his friend. Maybe, hopefully, even more than his friend.

They tell me time will heal the painBut i know i'll never be the same He nodded, it seemed like everyone was bored today by the way people just wandered slowly down the sidewalk. "I'm a Junior... You?" He said for lack of better words. "Hey, Wanna take a walk?" He asked glancing down the sidewalk hoping he didn't sound stupid, "I mean... for a change of scenery" He said pushing off the wall. Plus he didn't want to stand still any longer. But he waited for her answer as he brushed his hair away from his eyes, He sorta' liked her, She seemed nice enough and she had pretty eyes. He put his hands into his pockets and shifted his weight to his other foot. "I haven’t really seen you around much?" He said tipping his head ever so slightly to one side. "What do you do all day?" He added. He was just about always bored. He just spent his free time either wandering around town aimlessly or playing his guitar.

The world seems to be smiling today, thought Megan. The sun was shining, the air was fresh and warm with a slightly cool breeze. It was perfect, stereotypical Flordia weather. The world was smiling, but the people of the world weren't quite as bright. They were meandering, as if through molasses, past the cinema. Very few seemed to have a place to go or something to do. The rest looked as Megan had a few minutes ago, like they were outside for the heck of it. Some people were smiling, looking up at the sky and thanking whatever greater being they believed in. Some people were staring at the ground, upset about something. And others were simply looking right ahead, focusing on where ever they were going, even if that where ever was nowhere specific. Megan, however, was feeling very bright. It was rare that she didn't feel bright. She had her downs, just like every other person, but she was lucky. She was an althetic, smart, pretty girl. There wasn't much to be upset about. She liked her optimism. Sure, she went through days, sometimes weeks of being upset, but who didn't? She had life going her way. Plus, she had finally gotten to start a conversation with Charlie. That made her even happier.
"I'm a senior," she said. She hoped he didn't think of the age difference as anything. She certainly didn't. Maybe she was more likely to be good friends with a senior than with a freshman, but one year was barely anything at all. Just because he was a senior, it didn't mean that they couldn't be friends. Or more than friends. But they had just met. Megan scolded herself in her head. Why was she already thinking about what it would be like to be Charlie's girlfriend? The first step to get anywhere close to that was becoming his friend. If it turned out that she couldn't go out with him, she at least wanted to be someone he trusted and felt close to. She at least wanted to know him. She wanted to help him with whatever was troubling those gorgeous brown eyes.
"Sure," she said, her mouth breaking into a wide smile of her own. "A walk sounds nice!" Her heart beat faster and seemed to rise into her throat. Her hands were warm. She wiped them nervously on her pants. It bothered her that any guy could have such control over her, especially without him knowing. She was generally in fairly good control of her own situations, but this didn't work that way. Charlie had complete control on her feelings, her emotions, and her actions. And he didn't even realize it! He was just acting completely normal. And this, somehow, put Megan on an emotional rollercoaster. Every smile of his brought one of hers, and every inch of sadness affected Megan nearly as much.
"No, I haven't seen you around either, but I think you might be in a few of my classes, maybe..." she drifted off, unsure. She didn't really pay great attention to who was in her classes. Of course, she thought she probably would have noticed if Charlie was in one of her classes, but she wasn't sure if he was. "Hmm... what do I do all day?" she said as she began to walk forward. She didn't know where they were going, so she decided to let him do the leading. "I like sports, especially soccer. I also like friends and music. I play piano." She paused. "What about you?" she asked.

I'm the first to fallAnd the last to know He started walking next to her his eyes on the ground as he nodded, She was a year older then him... It didn't really matter that much, But she didn't look her age, He would have guessed she was younger. After a moment of silence he glanced over at her, She look to be almost nervous. "You okay?" He asked before deciding it wasn't really any of his business and looked back out in front of him. He didn’t really know where he was gone, but he didn’t want to stay in one place. He stayed quiet until she brought up music, His face brightened up. "I play guitar..." He smiled he could talk about music all day. He pretty much breathed music, The only time he wasn't playing music was when he was in class, But even then he had written some of his best songs in Math class. “And a play a little piano here and there but nothing much”She had also said she played Soccer, “Before I moved here I played Soccer” He added before scanning the pavement in front of him. “Other then that. I just wander around town like this... Only I’m normally alone” He said looking over at her. “It’s nice to have someone to talk to” He could tell they could have a lot to talk about, she like music, so did he... She liked soccer, and he used to play it... To bad she hadn’t come along a few years ago when he had really needed someone to talk to. He pulled himself out of self pity and waited for her to say something.

Megan looked at Charlie. His eyes were on the ground, and his hair fell in front of his face. They walked in pace, but there was something in between them. Something Charlie hid. Megan sighed. She needed to ignore it. Sure, maybe there was something bothering the junior. And sure, maybe she wanted, so much, just to help him, to make him feel better, and to get closer to him. But it wasn't her concern. Everyone had things that bothered them every once in a while. She remembered she had wanted no one's help when she had been anorexic. The memory still brought shivers to her. She wanted to forget that, to pretend it never happened. But it had happened, and all she could do was learn from it. It turned out that help was exactly what she needed. After she got help, she realized just how important it was to help others. But Charlie would manage. She knew it was in people's nature, no matter how resistant they were, to want help. She believed that, while people saw help as something that only weak people needed, every person had a little something inside of them that was crying out for someone to save them when they needed that. It was survival instincts. In some people, this instinct was huge. Those people threw themselves at others, begging for help. In other people, the instinct was tiny, only a small part of them wishing someone would figure out their secrets. Megan shook the thought away. It wasn't her place to help Charlie. Not yet, anyway. Maybe, when they were better friends, she could. But not now. Now, she had to focus on getting to know him. She was surprised that he had asked her if she was okay. Obviously, he was very good at picking up emotions in others he was around. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said, the corners of her mouth turning up slightly. "Are you okay?" He looked a little nervous as well. He wouldn't meet her gaze. His eyes kept sliding away from her.
"Really?" she asked, excited. She had always wanted to play guitar. "Maybe you could teach me, sometime?" A lesson from Charlie would be amazing. She'd be killing two birds with one stone. Not only would she get to spend more time with him, but she'd also get to learn guitar. She thought guitar, especially acoustic, was really pretty. Plus, it couldn't be too hard, right? She was pretty good at chords and music theory. Music was so brilliant. It was almost like magic. She loved music, and it excited her that she had met someone else who liked music just as much, if not more. It made her see Charlie as even more perfect. "And," she said, her smile growing. "And, and, and! I could teach you more piano. That would be really cool!" Embarrassed, she shut her mouth. She usually didn't care much what came out of her mouth. But in front of Charlie, she didn't want any more word vomit coming out. She wasn't very good with talking. She didn't get nervous, really. It was more like she'd get so excited that she would trip over her words and make no sense in her rush to get them out.
"You should play soccer, again. Then we could play together sometime." It was so great that they had so much in common. It gave her excuses to be around him more. "We could play music and soccer together!" Her eyes lit up and began to dance. She could feel her heart beating faster. Just the thought of spending more time with him made her so happy. She would love to be his and only his, but she had to take things one step at a time. Otherwise, nothing would ever happen between the two of them. And she had to slow down, give herself time for her feelings to settle. If she didn't, she might end up doing something she'd later regret. "Well, when we end up going our seperate ways, I'll give you my phone number and email address. That way, when you find yourself alone, again, you'll know who to call!" The thought that she was throwing herself at him crossed her mind briefly, but she dismissed it. She couldn't keep her feet on the ground when it came to boys, and this was normal for her whenever she was around someone she really liked. She was lucky. Guys seemed to be pretty much clueless for the most part about when girls liked them. She could go wild, and Charlie probably ever think that she had a thing for him.

It's the only real thing that I’ve got left to feel “Yeah, I’m fine” He answered, that was only half true. Since he had started talking to her he had almost forgotten about argument with Kyden the day before. He smiled again once she brought up guitar again, “I’m not a very good teacher, But I’ll try to teach you some stuff” He watched as she quickly shut herself up. “I’d love to learn more piano” He said with a slight laugh, Hanging out with her might be fun. ‘You should play soccer, again. Then we could play together sometime.’ He heard her say, “I’m not that good, I was just the goalie” He said shrugging slightly. “But it might be fun to play again” he added. “Yeah, I’ll give you my number and email too” He nodded, he liked her, she didn’t act like most of the other girls. “So do you have any other friends here or do you always just wander around town alone?” He asked trying to keep the conversation going.

Megan shrugged to herself when Charlie told her he was fine. He was a junior. He was perfectly capable of taking care of himself. So, she let it be. He must be fine, she decided. It was almost as if she kept thinking this so she could convince herself. She didn't really believe herself. Half of her wanted to keep trying to reach out to Charlie. The other half wanted to let him be so he would respect her for respecting his privacy. Neither half really believed that he was fine. The latter half one. If he didn't reach out to her for help -- if he, in fact, shied away from help -- then it wasn't her concern to try to help him. She laughed at his comment about teaching her guitar. "You think you're not a good teacher? Just wait until I try to teach you piano!" she said. She was an awful teacher, usually. Maybe she could do better with Charlie as a pupil. She'd probably have more patience with him. Generally, she didn't like to offer herself as a teacher. But this was Charlie she was talking about. If teaching him piano was the way to get to be with him more, then she would do it, and happily. The thought of her fingers on his, her body behind his, pressing down keys with him, it all made her smile. So did the image of his arms around her, showing her how to play the guitar. Not only would it be a lot of fun and help her learn guitar, but it would bring her closer to her. Just the idea of that made her heart soar. Maybe she did have a chance with this juinor. She so wanted to be his. She wanted to help him and to be helped by him. She wanted his touch, his heart, and his eyes. But, for the millionth time, she reminded herself that she had to take it slow. Friends first, she screamed at herself. Because she didn't only long for his touch or his love. She also longed for his companionship. She wished they could be best friends. He just seemed so perfect to her. And he didn't even know it. How sad was that? She was beating herself up over this guy who didn't even realized he had any control what-so-ever over her.
"Well, I'd love to teach you to play, though," she said, smiling. "We could do duets sometime." She hoped it didn't sound like she was too eager. She was trying to keep her tone completely neutral and casual. As much as she would love to play some duets with Charlie, she kept it to herself. She smiled at the thought, though. The two of them, making music, side by side, fingers banging or dancing on her keyboard. In tempo. Charlie and Megan, in time together. It would be brilliant. "Great!" she said, unable to keep her enthusiam to herself, this time. "I play offense. We could practice together. I'd take shots on you. I haven't been able to practice with an actual goalie against me. I usually just take shot on an empty goal. Sometimes I get to practice with Ky, but she plays defense, not goalie. Have you met Kyden, yet? She's great. I think you two would get along!" she said, babbling on. There she went again, letting her mouth get the best of her. She sighed and closed the chatterbox, her cheeks turning a soft pink color. She put her hands in he pockets again, fingering her room key that was in there. They had left the theater now, and they were heading towards Adventure Island, the water park. The park was closed down, because it was fall. The sight of it brought back lots of memories. All of the juniors had gotten together a lot to hang out last year, and Adventure Island was a pretty popular spot. Especially for those IT Girls who liked to show off their stick bodies when the warm weather showed any sign of showing. Like Michelle Winters. At the thought of her former friend, Megan frowned.
"Cool," she said, grinning. The words twisted her frown into a happy smile. She wanted to dance around. Not only had she now talked to the boy she had had her eyes on for a while, but she was also going to get his phone number and email address. That meant there really was a chance for future get-togethers. Megan felt like she could fly. All unpleasant memories of Michelle flew from her head. She no longer wanted to think about her and Charlie's future. Now, she just wanted to think about the present. About the talking and walking they were doing. How she finally met him for real. It excited her so much to know that she was finally hanging out with Charlie Wright. Charlie Wright, the boy that made her heart sing, dance, twist, and jump when she saw him. She laughed at his question. Laughing was so easy now. It was never hard, but it seemed to bubble up inside of her even more willingly now that she was with Charlie. "I have friends!" she said. "Kyden is my best friend. And I'm only wandering because it's such a nice day out," she said, trying to sound indignant, but ending up dissolving into giggles. She didn't know why it struck her as funny, but she couldn't keep a straight face. "I usually have lots to do." She looked back at him. His dark hair was still in front of his face. Her skin tingled. She really had such a hard time around boys she liked.

I don't believe that anybody feelsthe way I do about you now He couldn't help but almost laugh as she said she wasn't a very good teacher, He was sure she would be fine, he learned rather quickly and they would be playing together in no time, part of him couldn't wait intil he had someone to play music with, and the other part of him just wanted to get to know her. “Duets would be fun... It gets sorta’ old playing music alone all the time” He said looking up at her, but this time his eyes stayed on her instead of drifting of to the pavement in front of him. He smiled once she started talking about how they could play soccer together, “I haven’t played in about a year, you’d have no trouble getting past me”But the smiled faded the second she said ‘Kyden’ ‘Have you met Kyden, yet? She's great. I think you two would get along!’ He glanced back out in front of him, “Yeah, we’ve met... ” He didn’t want to cause any conflict between the two, as long as Kyden stayed out of his face he would be just fine. “I really only hang out with Adelaide and dawn...and you”He added looking back up at her trying to forget about Kyden. He wasn’t going to let a argument mess up his day. He brushed a bit of hair away from his eyes, He was starting to like her... even though they had just met, she was nice and they had so much in common.

Megan was thrilled to find out she and Charlie had something big in common. Music. It was beautiful, it was entrancing, and it was nearly as important to her life as sports. Not quite, but nearly. Like sports, music could always cheer her up. In sports, the endorphins that were released from the exercise and her love for sports always made her feel great. In music, there was just something about the way the notes worked together and sounded in chords and melodies that made her relax and cheer up at the same time. The sound let her pound out any feelings she had while lifting her high into a world of only songs. And she knew playing music with Charlie would be better than that. She looked up at the sky, sighing wistfully. She imagined music with Charlie would be almost magical. Then she frowned to herself, probably not noticable to Charlie. What was she thinking. She and Charlie had nothing together. They barely had a friendship yet. And already she was thinking too far ahead. Again. Would she ever learn? Put your head in the present! she told herself. That's what counts! Again. Eventually, she figured, she'd get it. She'd take things one step at a time. She was sick of having to remind herself. Then again, was it so wrong to fantasize? There's a time for that, she thought. Now was not the time. Now was the time to enjoy Charlie's company. Now was the time to think about what she had now, not what she might have later. Still, she allowed herself a small smile in anticipation for a duet or two with Charlie. She nodded at what he said. She did get tired sometimes of the same music, all by herself. It wasn't that she ever didn't want to play piano. But it would probably be a lot more fun with someone else.
She laughed. "Well, we'll have to whip you up to shape so you can play for the boys team, huh?" she asked, joking around. If they did get around to playing, she'd probably play easy on him. She knew guys generally didn't like it too much when girls showed them up in something, especially in subjects that were considered boy things. Like sports. It seemed the world expected boys to be much better than girls in sports, but Megan knew she could show a thing or two to some 'jocks' out there. Well, maybe not the big football players or the ridiculously fast basketball players, she thought, smiling as she pictured herself up against a tall, wide football player. Still, she would play along and not be too hard on Charlie. Plus, she'd hate to hurt him. One of her kicks in the stomach wouldn't be too fun for him. Maybe she could put Ky on his team and play against both of them. But, then they'd probably win. She furrowed her brow slightly as she thought about how the teams might end up even. Maybe it could be Charlie and Meg against Kyden. That would probably work. Speaking of Kyden, Charlie didn't look too happy when Megan brought up her best friend. She noticed those lovely, oceanic leagues of brown in his eyes shift again. There was something on that subject he didn't want to say. Had something happened? She decided she'd have to talk to Ky about that. It wouldn't be good if Ky started to hate the boy Megan liked.
She let her eyes wander into Charlie's. Once again she was startled by their depth. Brown eyes could be dull sometimes. They could be muddy and soft. She generally like eyes with color and light in them. She especially liked those eyes that not only were multi-colored and crystaline but were also deep. Sea Green was her favorite eye color. But somehow, Charlie had managed to pull of the chocolate eye color look. His eyes were never-ending pools of life. They were very dark, but they still had light in them. She watched as he brushed a piece of hair from his face. "I haven't really met either of them," she said. Secretly, she was pleased. If he only hung out with a few people, it meant she could have more of him to herself. But she shoved this thought into a corner. It was mean of her to think that way. Still, she wanted him all to herself. If she was lucky, that would come with time. In the meantime, she would share him. She didn't think of him as a possession. But her thoughts sometimes worked in... different ways. She noticed that Charlie had said he had met Ky but that he didn't hang out with her a lot. The way he said this interested Megan. She made a mental note to make sure she brought it up in a conversation with Ky. She wanted to know what was going on between the two of them. Then, she stuck her mental post-it not into that corner of her head with all the other junk and came back to reality. She really wanted to ask if he liked either of them, but she reminded herself that talking to boys for the first time was different than talking to girls. She should know; she practically was one of the boys sometimes. But she knew it could get awkward to talk about relationships with guys. More so, at least, than when it was with other girls. "So, you play guitar and hang out with people? That sounds like a good balance in life." She smiled. She wanted to keep talking with him, but she wasn't really sure what to say.
[Hahahaha! Done! Sorry it took me so long!]

Have you ever been lost in a different world Where everything you once knew is gone[/center][/i] A slight smile crossed his face, “Whip me into shape?.. That’ll take a while” He hadn’t really done anything since he had moved to Dayton Academy. He doubted he could ever be good enough to play on a team, But maybe just kicking around the soccer ball with Megan would be fun, and if nothing else came of there game Megan could play with an goalie even though he hadn’t played in a long time, he could probably still block a few shots. “Hey, We could go play a little” He said pointing down the sidewalk where the schools soccer field was just coming into view. “That is if you wanted to” He found that his gaze had drifted to the pavement, It was just a habit now, He looked up at her trying to keep his eyes off the sidewalk. ‘So, you play guitar and hang out with people? That sounds like a good balance in life.’ “Yeah, I guess...” He shrugged, “I don’t go a day without playing my guitar” He normally spent up to three or four hours a day doing nothing but playing his guitar. Needless to say the people in the dorms around him went to happy, but he didn’t really care.
