Jack had just read the note when the bell sounded. He practically flew out of his desk, barely pausing to grab his books, and soared to the door. Sophie was waiting before she left. He came next to her and walked with her.
"So," he said. "How does tomorrow after school at the Circle sound?" He was so done with communicating by notes. He was glad he could finally look at her clear blue eyes face to face.
It was nice to get to know a girl. He had been pretty alone since the move. Maybe now he could get on with his life. Now that there was something to look forward to.

She was abit startled as Jack came flying out of the classroom, and she settled into stride next to him. She smiled to herself as they were walking. It was really a quiet walk until e spoke.
"Sounds good," She replied, smiling just a little. Notes were so over with her. She preferred talking face to face or on the phone. AIM was okay, but actual voices were best.
She hadn't gotten close to a guy since her mother. That was awhile ago, but she still wasn't over it. She didn't think she'd ever be. But she wanted to try. Her mother would've wanted her to.

"Alright, then!" Jack said, grinning widely. "See ya later!" He branced off to get to his locker, leaving her behind him.
He was looking forward to meeting her at the Circle. She was a very friendly person. He remember what his mother always said about the girls he brought home. They all wore too much make-up and laughed too loudly, she always said. One had actually been a drinker, and Jack didn't know that until he went to her party. That hadn't been a fun night. But he was sure his mom would think differently of Sophie, if only she was here to think at all.
He shook the thought from his head. If he could get something going with Sophie, it would mean, to the rest of his family, that he would be moving on from his mother's death. Finally.

"Yea,see ya," she said before he bolted off to his own locker. Smiling to herself, she hugged her books tighter to her chest. Her mother would be proud.
Heading to her locker, she grabbed the books she needed. Tossing her hair over her shoulder, she slammed her locker door closed with her foot and headed out towards the exit.
Sitting on her Mustang convertible, she thought back to when her mother was around. It was so much funner. So much brighter. But times change, and so did she. She pushed the thought from her head. Now wasn't the right time.
